Dog and Cat Licensing

Dogs and cats more than 7 months or older need a license. The licensing period is January 1st through December 31st. Pet owners may apply for a license at the Long Beach Township Finance Department or fill out and mail the License Application. When processing by mail, you need to include a self addressed stamped envelope for the return of your license and tag. Please do not send original documents as we are unable to return them.

To obtain a dog or cat license, owners must present:
  1. License Application
  2. Copy of current rabies vaccination certificate (valid through October of the licensing year)
  3. Copy of proof that your pet has been spayed or neutered (if applicable)
  4. Remit separate checks payable to "LBT Dog License" or "LBT Cat License" (as applicable)

    §47-5: No animals, except Seeing Eye dogs, whether leashed, harnessed or otherwise controlled shall be allowed upon any public beach at any place within the limits of the Township from May 1st through October 1st of any year. This restriction shall not be in effect between October 1st and May April 30th of any given year.
